Label Printing Technologies

Etalex, a Cairo label manufacturer since 1952, runs letterpress in flat and rotary, rotary offset, flexography, silk screen and digital printing, with hot stamping for finishing, under one roof. Each process suits different artwork, materials and run lengths, so our team recommends the method that fits your label rather than forcing every job onto one press.

Processes

Six processes, one factory

A short guide to what each process is. Our team confirms which one suits your job.

01

Flexography

Flexography prints from flexible relief plates with fluid inks and works on a wide range of papers and films. It is widely used for roll labels and packaging.

02

Rotary offset

Offset transfers ink from a flat plate to a rubber blanket and then to the label. It is known for fine detail and smooth tonal gradation.

03

Letterpress

Letterpress prints paste inks from raised plates pressed against the label, giving crisp type and solid colours. We run letterpress in flat and rotary.

04

Silk screen

Screen printing pushes ink through a fine mesh stencil and can lay down a thick, opaque or tactile ink film that other processes cannot.

05

Digital printing

Digital printing works directly from the file without printing plates, which suits short runs and jobs with many versions.

06

Hot stamping

Hot stamping is a finishing process that transfers metallic foil to the label with a heated die, often used on logos, lettering and borders.

Choosing a method

Which method fits your label?

The right process depends on how many labels you need, how many versions, how fine the artwork is, which colours and effects you want, and the material the label is printed on. Many labels combine more than one process, for example printing followed by hot stamping.

Our certified scope covers label production using flexographic, offset, screen and digital printing processes. Describe your label, quantity and finish, and our team will recommend the method that fits.

Certifications

Certified label production

Our management systems are certified to ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, GMP and HACCP. All five certificates are issued to Etalex Factory by ABS Global and are valid until 16 May 2027. The certified scope covers the design, pre-press, manufacture, printing, conversion, finishing and supply of self-adhesive labels and specialty label solutions using flexographic, offset, screen and digital printing processes.

FAQ

Printing method questions

Which printing methods do you use?

Our Cairo factory runs letterpress in flat and rotary, rotary offset, flexography, silk screen and digital printing, with hot stamping for finishing. The right method depends on your artwork, material and quantity. Describe your job when you contact us and our team will recommend a process.

Which method suits short runs?

Digital printing needs no printing plates, so it is usually considered first for short runs and jobs with many versions. Where the boundary sits depends on the artwork, colours, finish and material, so send your quantity and number of versions and our team will advise on the best method for your job.

Can one label use more than one process?

Yes. Many labels combine processes, for example a printed label finished with hot stamping, or screen printing used for an opaque or tactile area. Our team plans the combination with your artwork and material, so tell us the effects you want when you request a quote.

Ask which method fits your job

Send your label size, quantity, number of versions, material and finish, with artwork if you have it. Our team in Cairo will reply during working hours, Sunday to Thursday.
